FREELANCE & INDEPENDENT CONTRACT WORK

FILM: Ghostbusters (2016) -- On-set in Boston as VFX assistant and pre-visualation for Sony Pictures

TV: Alvin and The Chipmunks (2014) -- Testing character set-up for Bagdasarian Productions

FILM: Watchmen (2007) -- Animation test of Doc Manhattan for Sony Pictures Imageworks

FILM: Stephen King's The Mist (2007) -- Animated tentacle creatures for Cafe FX

FILM: Snakes On A Plane (2005) -- Animated snakes for Cafe FX

FILM: Trigger Street Productions (2005) -- VFX post-production, storyboards, modelling, animation and rendering of Triggerstreet opening film logo.

TV COMMERCIAL: Rent-A-Center (2004) -- VFX post-production, animation and integration of 3D characters/elements.

FILM: First Daughter (2003) -- Built, rigged and animated butterflies for title sequences.

TEACHING: Santa Barbara City College (2003-2005) -- Adjunct faculty in Multimedia Arts Technology teaching 3D animation in Alias|Wavefront Maya

BOOK (2006): No Return, A Novel by Pete Travers -- Edited and produced traditional publication of first edition.


SONY PICTURES IMAGEWORKS -- (March 2000 - July 2003)

FILM: Matrix Reloaded -- Animated sentinels.

FILM: Haunted Mansion -- Animated singing statues.

FILM: Early Bloomer -- Character animation and setup. Some producing and planning.

FILM: The Chubbs Chubbs -- Character animation, worked with animation pipeline team. This film won the 2002 Academy Award for Best Animated Short

FILM: Stuart Little 2 -- Animated facial for live action cats.

FILM: Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone -- Built animation rigs and tools for animating multiple characters. Assisted other artists with animation tasks.

FILM: Hollowman-- Animated Hollowman character.


SANTA BARBARA STUDIOS -- (November 1996 - March 2000)

FILM: Road Trip -- Provided Animation Supervision. Animated lip-sync for live action dog.

TELEVISION: Star Trek Voyager: Equinox Episode 2 -- Provided Animation Supervision & post-production scheduling. I also engineered all the kinematic setup and animation controls in Maya. I worked directly with Paramount Studios to get feedback and approval on animation.

FILM: Little Vampires -- Provided Animation Supervision during research and development. Our studio was hired to build the digital cows and set them up for use in production by Digital Renaissance in Germany. I engineered all the kinematic setup and animation controls in Maya and designed the animation pipeline.

TELEVISION: Star Trek Voyager: Equinox Episode 1 -- Provided Animation Supervision. I also engineered all the kinematic setup and animation controls in Maya. I worked directly with Paramount Studios to get feedback and approval on animation.

FILM: Star Trek 9: Insurrection -- Created animatics and final animations of digital spaceships. Converted many of the team's animatics from Softimage to Maya using proprietary tools.

FILM: Paulie, A Parrot's Tale -- Animated beak and tongue for lip sync. I also helped in designing and creating a pipeline to incorporate Flint tracking data into Softimage.

VIDEO GAME: Parasite Eve -- Animated the mutant rat monster using Softimage for full motion video sequence.

FILM: Spawn -- Animated the character Malbolgia using Softimage.

FILM: An American Werewolf in Paris -- Animated the werewolf using Softimage.


WARNER BROTHERS DIGITAL -- (September 1995 -November 1996)

FILM: Mars Attacks! -- Animated the Giant Martian Robot using Kinemation. Rendered in Renderman. Composited with Composer.

FILM: Marvin the Martian in the Third Dimension -- Animated traditional characters in full stereoscopic 3D using Softimage. The characters included Daffy Duck, Marvin the Martian and K-9 the Martian Dog. I also supported other artists with IK skeleton setup, lip sync setups, and training.


TEACHING EXPERIENCE

ADJUNCT FACULTY: SANTA BARBARA CITY COLLEGE, SANTA BARBARA (Fall 2003 - Spring 2005): -- Taught "Intro to Maya" and "Character Setup in Maya"

INSTRUCTOR: CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, LONG BEACH (Spring 1995 - Spring 1997): "Getting Started with Softimage 3D" -- Taught this specialized course at CSULB's Advanced Media Production Center designed to overview Softimage Creative Environment.


HOMER AND ASSOCIATES, INC. -(March 1994 - September 1995)

MUSIC VIDEO: TLC's Waterfalls -- Engineered 3D characters for motion capture and brought data into Softimage to create waterfall dance sequence. Composited in Eddie. This video won the 1995 MTV Award for Best Video of the Year.

TELEVISION SERIES: AJ's Time Travelers -- Designed and modeled digital "Fly" character for this live action series. I also animated all the fly's scenes for 23 episodes. I regularly assisted with the live shoots and worked with post production staff.

TV COMMERCIAL: La Tapatia Tortillas -- Animated, modeled and setup "Tappy" the Tortilla in Softimage. I also facilitated custom motion capture for the character's lip sync in both Spanish and English. Composited using Eddie.


WALLACE PARKS CREATIVE -- (May 1993 - March 1994)

MUSIC VIDEO: Rock My World -- co-produced and assisted with visual effects

TELEVISION: "KPTV Station Logos" -- modeled and animated station logos for broadcast.
